Some people will recognise this name, especially if they have watched any UEFA Europa League action or more recently the Nations League 2021. This Spanish winger applies his trade in La Liga, the top division in Spanish football. He plays for Villareal who recently won the Europa League competition, beating Manchester United in the final.
He was a key component in this ageing Villareal team and brought a lot of youth and dynamism in the ranks. His goalscoring record for a young winger is not bad either, scoring 8 goals in 45 appearances for the Spanish club. I forgot to mention, he is only 18 years old, making this an even bigger achievement. Due to COVID, he recently was selected for the Spanish national squad for the Nations League, and caught the eye after coming off the bench for the Semi-final and the Final. Spain ended up being runners-up to France, however, from the action that I got to see of Pino, it is very clear that he can make a real impact to both the national team and his club team.
Yeremi is a very direct and fast winger who loves to take on his defender in a one-on-one situation. For an 18 year old he clearly already has a lot of confidence and is a bright spark when he has the ball at his feet. He also is a very skilful player and seems to have an end result too which is very important. With more coaching and nurturing I honestly believe that this young man will have a very bright career wherever he ends up.
