A name not heard by many in the footballing world, Hugo Ekitike is a French footballer who belongs to Reims in the French Ligue 1. He is currently on loan in the Danish top division.
Ekitike, a striker who is only 19 years old, has impressed a lot of clubs so far this season, helping Reims to a 14th position in the league last season. He scored 8 goals in 17 appearances for his side, which is a good strike rate for such a young player. He was let on loan last season to Vejle BK, a Danish club based in Jutland. Having scored a few goals for his new team last, he has caught the eye of many big clubs.
He is 6ft 2 and is well known for being a good finisher with good ball control. Unsurprisingly he has been compared to his French compatriot Kylian Mbappe, although I am not sure he will quite live up to those expectations. The two biggest clubs that have enquired over the signing of this young talent are Chelsea and Newcastle. Some reports say that Chelsea have already begun talks with Ekitike. Although his future is uncertain, I am confident that he has the potential to become a great forward player.
