Here is a player that very few people have heard of, and to be fair I am not surprised. He is an American football player who recently signed for Borussia Mönchengladbach in the German Bundesliga. In his career he has played very few times both for his new team and his former, New York City.

Scally is a right back, who seems to me to be a quite attacking one, with a great acceleration and is comfortable on the ball. He has only racked up 7 appearances so far for Mönchengladbach, however he has already scored a goal for them in a 3-1 win to Wolfsburg, quite an achievement for a fullback in his first few games in a different league. As I have already stated this young 18 year old has barely played football professionally but to me, he looks like a great young full back with plenty of energy and enthusiasm.
In recent years there has been a relatively strong connection with players from North America moving to Germany to apply their trade in the Bundesliga. Players such as Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig) and Giovanni Reyna (Borussia Dortmund). It is amazing to see young American talent come to European football and star for their teams, notably Pulisic who is now a Chelsea player. I believe that Joe Scally can also achieve great success in the Bundesliga, which has become an even more competitive and exciting league in recent years. A great talent for the future.
