Definitely a name that is known to Wolverhampton Wanderers fans and Premier League fans. Silva was bought from Porto, in the Portuguese league last year and made his move to the Black Country to try his hand at the Premier League, so far a slow start but I am sure there is much more to come.

Wolves signed this 19 year old striker from Porto due to the serious head injury to their top scorer, Raul Jimenez. The pressure and expectation of the club was all on young Silva’s shoulders. This is the main reason why maybe we have not seen his full potential yet. However, having watched him regularly last season, it is clear he is a well rounded striker who is very good in the air, coming in at over 6ft. Even though his career statistics have not been the best, the Wolves scouting team must have seen a lot of promise in this young man, as they forked out the club record fee of £35 million to sign him from the Portuguese giants. This is an extravagant amount of money for a young player!
As Jimenez is back from his terrible head injury, life at Wolverhampton will become a lot easier for Silva, making less appearances and therefore a lot less pressure on such a young man. I believe that this will help him mature as a footballer and learn a lot in training and progress. In the next few years we will see his development and I think he has the potential to be one of the top strikers.
