Originally born in Switzerland, Costa has played the majority of his career in Portugal with Porto and has decided to play nationally for the Portuguese side.

Coming in at a mighty 6ft 4, he is the perfect candidate to play as a goalkeeper. Although he has been the second choice goalkeeper for the past 2 seasons at Porto due to his inexperience and age, 22, there have been many glimpses of what this giant can do between the sticks. Due to the number one goalkeeper being injured this season, Marchesín, it has allowed a great opportunity for the young Portuguese man to stake his claim and prove he can be one of the best in the world. In 13 games this season, in all competitions, he has managed to keep 5 clean sheets. This is a great start to the 2021-2022 campaign and I am sure when he gets the chance, this number will get bigger and bigger.
Due to his height and long reach, it is no surprise that he is not easy to score a goal against. Some of the best keepers ever to play football have been big and intimidating. A great example of this is Manuel Neuer, very hard to score against a wall. Since the age of 15 he has played for the youth teams for the national side but only recently was he called up to the senior squad and has already played his first game for the Portugal team. This is a great start to his career and I am certain that this young goalkeeper will have a long and prosperous career between the sticks.
