Every football fan should know who Paolo Maldini is, one of the best defensive players to ever kick a ball. Here we have his son, Daniel, who is only 20 years old and wanting to carry on his family’s legacy of footballing greats.

Daniel has become the 3rd generation of Maldini’s to play football and in particular, to play for AC Milan. His grandfather Cesare played and captained the Serie A team during the sixties and of course, his father, Paolo, captained and played for AC Milan throughout the 90’s and the 00’s. Paolo racked up over 1000 appearances for both club and country. He is also very well known to be a one club man, only ever playing for his beloved Milan.
Enough about family history and onto Daniel. He has come up through the Milan youth system, starting to play football from the age of 10 and he made his senior team debut at the beginning of 2020. He also recently made his UEFA Champions League debut this season. His father played the majority of his career as a defender but also was known to be a very attacking fullback. Daniel considers himself an attacking midfielder who can also be versatile. Having watched him play in a few matches, he has a good eye for a pass and is a good dribbler. These 2 skills are required for the position he wants to play. I am sure his father is very proud of him and Daniel wants to carry on his family’s legacy at Milan and I am certain that he will. He is a good young player and has the perfect mentor and coach to help him expand and improve his game. There is no doubt that Daniel Maldini will become a superstar.
