This young man is probably quite well known to many people already as he has starred in the Premier league at both West Bromwich Albion and now at Crystal Palace in the 2021-2022 season. He is a Chelsea academy star, currently being loaned out to gain more experience. Having watched this 21 year old over the past few seasons, it is no surprise that a lot of people are very excited for his future.
He is a box-to-box midfielder with an incredible work rate. It is clear to see that he doesn’t leave anything on the pitch after the game finishes. He sprints all game and rushes defenders to make mistakes to help his team. His work rate isn’t his only positive attribute but he is also very accomplished with the ball and is able to convert his hard work into a few goals too, always very handy! If I had to compare him to a past footballer, it would have to be a former Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard. Although he is nowhere near this level yet, there are a lot of similarities with both these Englishmen and I hope, as a Chelsea fan, that Conor Gallagher will be a legend for the club in the future.
He also has gone through the ranks in the international setup and has played in all of the youth teams, I believe it is a matter of time until he is called up to play under Gareth Southgate in the English senior team! There is so much to like about this player and I am convinced he will be a class player for years to come.
