The second set of brothers to make it onto the promising talent shortlist. This time I am looking at Carney and Caleb Chukwuemeka, who both play for Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Carney is the younger of the two, but has been at Aston Villa for a while. He has already made his Premier League debut but is more often seen in the domestic cups, such as the League cup. He spent his youth at Aston Villa so he knows the club extremely well. Carney is a midfielder who is a box-to-box, showing his versatility when needed. After having watched him play in his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the 2020-2021 season and also in the League cup, he is a very classy footballer who is very comfortable on the ball. He has a good frame and is technically sound. All of these qualities will help him develop into a shining star if managed correctly. I can see him becoming a regular in the senior team slowly by slowly as he is given more responsibility.

On the contrary, the elder brother, Caleb, has still yet to make an appearance for Aston Villa. Caleb is still only 19 years old but has played more football for his boyhood club, Northampton Town. He only recently re-signed for Aston Villa to join his younger brother. Caleb is more of an attacking player who usually plays as a striker or a winger. Having followed Aston Villa’s youth team a bit, I always see this man’s name on the scoresheet so he is definitely a deadly finisher. Although he is still waiting for his senior Premier League debut, he has played in the League cup, alongside his brother. Soon, I believe he will get his chance to shine as an attacking threat but there is definitely huge potential with himself and his brother, Carney.
